It's color challenge day on SCS. Every Tuesday, Emily posts a color combo that you are to make a card/project with. It is not a contest or anything, just stamping fun. :) I love it because it gives me a starting point and a task and I just start stamping. :)
Today's challenge is in honor of breast cancer awareness and is to use PINK. I loooooove pink, so I got stamping right away! :)
The card is made with emboss resist on glossy white paper. Here are the steps:
- stamp script BG stamp with Stazon timber brown on glossy white
- let dry completely (or set with heat gun)
- stamp flower in versamark and then emboss with clear embossing powder
- using dye ink (I used a cotton candy Kaleidacolor pad) sponge ink all over glossy paper around image. I always start with the lightest color and then blend darker colors over it.
I sewed around the embossed piece (SORRY, I love my Janome... do you have one yet?) LOL I added a panel of pretty in pink CS that was stamped in whisper white craft and zig zag stitched. I finished it off with some copper brads (Making Memories-my FAVORITE type/color of brad). I also added a super cool ribbon brad that I got at Hobby Lobby. It is Paper Studio brand. Unfortunately it is a package with mixed metals and aged copper is my favorite. I ended up buying 5 packages of them and so far have only been using the copper ones. LOL
I think I need to get back to my stamp room. I hear my pink inks calling my name still. I think I am going to go for round 2. :)
