Celebrate MFT Day!

Every 20th is Celebrate MFT Day!

What does that mean? Well, grab your MFT stamps and make something. :) If you REALLY want to show your MFT spirit, you can celebrate in MFT signature colors: pink, black and white.
If you want the chance to win a $5 MFT gift certificate, head on over to the MFT Forum and post a link to your "Celebrate MFT Day" creation in your on-line gallery OR on your blog. :) Click HERE to be directed to the thread. You can leave your link as well as view other stampers creations!

This 20th, I am celebrating in STYLE! Shoe style that is! If you know me, you know I am NOT big on shoes! LOL I have a pair of Skecher Flip Flops (adorned with Swarovski crystals heehee) that I wear most of the time. It's me. I am a capris and plain shirt type of girl. I rarely dress up and don't have the most "prestigious" collection of shoes! LMBO! As a matter the fact, I would rather spend my money on shoe STAMPS than shoes themselves. So... when I was stamping with this set I was chuckling to myself and felt like a bit of an imposter! I hope you shoe loving girls will forgive me for it! LOL I wish I could have lined the shelves with flip flops, now THAT would have been me!

Anyway, back to the project... I made the card first and decided I was in a brad mood. LOL I used lots of them. Brads make me happy and when you have a plethora of them laying around, you can use 13 on a card and not even wince! *wink* I colored the image with Copic markers. Afterward, I was figuring out my layout and realized it... I had broken a JODY RULE. I used WHITE card stock with patterned paper that was IVORY! *GASP* Know how I fixed it? I colored every inch of white with a Copic marker (E50) and now it is ivory! *whew* Crisis averted!

After I made the card, I decided to make an altered tin. This tin used to house Pampered Chef fruity tea. Confession: I have about 6 of these tins and I need to use them! Confession #2, I bought so MUCH of this tea that I got tired of it and ended up throwing it away after it sat in my pantry for a couple years! EEK! I wrapped the tin in the same patterned paper I used on the card and then used my Nestabilities to cut some circles for the top of the tin. I added lots of brads (19 to be exact) to keep with the braddy theme. I wanted to tie in the ribbon from the card (no pun intended), but wanted something hanging from the ribbon. Then I remembered... POLYSHRINK! I saw AmyR use it recently so it was fresh on my mind! (BTW, have you seen Amy's new stamp line? She used her new stamps in the blog post I linked to. Go check them out!) I made 3 polyshrink gogo boots (which I would never wear IRL BTW) and attached them with a package of these ball thingies I found in my "silver" embellishment drawer. FUN! :)

Ink: Memento black, versamark

Paper: SU patterned paper (Haiku), artichoke, PTI white, saffron, black

Accessories: polyshrink, brads, dimensional boosters, SU ribbon, jump rings, keychain thingy, black floss, Copic markers

  11. This is soooo cute, Jody! I love the shrink-plastic boots. I wanted to let you know I (gasp) broke a Jody rule, too. I haven't posted my card yet (it'll go up tomorrow), but I used an image that was pre-stamped for me (on white) with dp that has an ivory base. I couldn't remember which Copic color you used for your fix, so I hopped back over here to check. Don't have the E50 :( Oh well ... just steer clear of Pickled Paper Designs tomorrow - LOL! Love all your "rules," by the way!!
