Friendship Quilt

I made this card for this week's color combo challenge on SCS. The colors were:
  • Pink Pirouette (or pretty in pink)

  • Kiwi Kiss (or old olive)

  • Chocolate Chip

For not having much stamping on it, this card took me forever to make! First I punched a bunch of 1 1/4" squares to use as my quilt squares. Then I had to arrange them the way I wanted them. NOT an easy task! LOL I decided to make it easier on myself, I would run my entire piece of brown card stock through my Xyron machine. I adhered all the squares on the brown mat leaving a tiny border of adhesive showing. I dipped all the edges in Dazzling Diamonds glitter. I then stitched between all the quilt squares and all the way around the edge.

I still had my polyshrink out and it was calling my name so I made a thread and scissor charm out of it. :) I tied it on the kiwi ribbon with a piece of thread. The sentiment was stamped, die cut with my Nesties and adhered to the quilt.

When I showed my hubby the card, his response was, "WOW, that was a lot of work!" Awwwww I'll take that as a compliment! LOL

I don't think I'll take up REAL quilting...

  5. That really is a beautiful card. I've been contemplating sewing some of my cards but haven't made that leap yet. This card has me pulling the sewing machine out. I really is beautiful...

Have you had any problems with the adhesive getting stuck on the needle?

    Thanks!
