Enabler Alert

Please excuse the mess. This is the state of my craft table right this minute. LOL I had to go snap a picture for this post and... well... it is what it is and it is MESSY! This is the result of me stamping 9 cards in 9 days. Maybe today I will clean up and start over. LOL My space has officially closed in around me. :) That is the position I place my Janome in when I sew on a card.
There is the foot pedal to my right on the floor. That is where it stays all the time. Again, don't mind the mess. I have been creating! :)

There is it's home on the shelf. I can lean back and grab it with one hand and put it on my table. Again, messy messy messy! LOL

Hi all! I just got an e-mail from Hancock Fabrics and there is going to be a one day sale on Saturday, November 15th.

Included in the sale is the Janome Sew Mini sewing machine, which is what I use! It will be on sale for $39.99 (reg $59.99). There is also FREE SHIPPING for orders of $50 or more. I would suggest adding some of the Janome bobbins (cannot use other ones to the best of my non-seamstress knowledge) for different colors of thread to your order to bump it up to $50 and not have to pay shipping.

Of course I don't work for Janome OR Hancock Fabrics. Just passing along the deal because it is a REALLY good price and I LOVE my Janome Sew Mini. :)

I will be using mine to bring you some sewing tips in the near future! :)

Pros: lightweight
  • compact
  • sews like a REAL sewing machine
  • 7 stitch options
  • easy to use (I am not a seamstress and I figured it out) LOL

Cons:

  • it's light weight makes it unsturdy if you don't sew on a flat surface of a sturdy table (I don't, I sew on my craft table, but it's ok for me that it bounces a little)
  • No light attached
  • only 7 stitches

I store mine to the right of where I sit and stamp on my metal shelving. When I want to sew, I lean back in my chair and grab it with one hand and put it on my table. Then, I grab the foot pedal with my foot and put it in place. When I am done, I kick the foot pedal out of the way and stick the sewing machine back in it's place on the shelf. Easy peasy! :)

  1. I adore my janome, and I think you're the one that originally made me buy it (made me... yeah, really twisted my arm!) Glad I'm not the only one who's stamp area looks like that! LOL! I'm trying to do damage control down there today!

  2. I love you for sharing the picture of your messy stamping area ~ believe me, there are tons of people out there right now who are feeling just a little bit better about not being the only ones...including me! I would love, love , love to buy this sewing machine. It has been at the top of my wish list for a long time. But I'm not sure I would be able to figure it out, as I am a total non-sewing person.

  3. This is GREAT news! Except of course, that I live in Canada, and they only ship to the US. I have been looking for a Janome mini for about a year, and I can't find anything comparable. If you hear of any sales in Canada I would LOVE to know!

  4. Hehe. . . Jody, you'd be right at home in my workspace! Honestly, the rest of my house isn't bad (other than dust), but my workspace--that's another story. . . I have too many ideas and too little time to want to spend it "tidying up!" And I'll be clicking on this sale tomorrow. Thanks for the notice!

  5. Ok, I have to admit, I wasn't enabled by the little sewing machine....HOWEVER, I was enabled by the pictures and descriptions of your craft room. You've enabled me to be comfortable of the sty I work in! HAHAH Thanks! :)

  12. Thanks for the heads up on the Janome Sew Mini. I've been wanting one for a while and now I might take the plunge. Are the extra bobbins the only thing you need in addition to the sewing machine? I've never used a sewing machine before so I have absolutely no clue! But I'm looking forward to learning! :)

  13. I love this little machine, and I have a big Bernina, which I love, but I hate to bring it out to sew. Plus, it intimidates my customers....so I am glad to see what you've done with it1 I also added your blog to my blog....and I love your room..it is so heartwarming that my room is not alone in the clutter...er...creative decor! lol

  14. When I first saw your post, I though "How did Jody get a picture of my stamp area?"? LOL! Glad I'm not the only one!

Thanks for the alert Jody! I've been wanting this machine for ages, but also wanting it at the $39.99 price. This machine is now happily on its way to me.

  17. OMGosh, I felt at home (in my craft area) when I saw your area. It looked so familiar, I couldn't help but chuckle. That's usually what happens and what it looks like, when we are busy creating. But who cares...it was fun making the big mess (lol).

Anyhow, your card is very pretty and I love the brown tone. TFS!

  18. OMG! THis has to be one of the funniest posts I have ever read! It's amazing that you can create in that mess...but let me say that your work doesn't reflect the disaster of your room! lol your work is always fab. I love seeing someone else's room look so much like mine. I wish my cards looked more like yours too!
thanks for sharing your messy space! I LOVE IT!

  30. Whoopee!! I saw that sale and finally got my Janome!!! Haven't really gotten to use it yet but tried it out a little and I love it! Had bought a Singer Pixie at Wal Mart and had to take it back. I am fortunate in that I have room on my table and just pull it towards me. (have to remember not to put junk in front of tho, still learning)
