Hi all and welcome to the MFT blog hop!
If you're just happening along the blog hop, please start at the beginning at KIM'S BLOG for the full experience. :) You want to see the other cool cards, right? :) Remember to leave a comment on the last blog you visit for the chance to win your very own Funky Flowers stamp set! :)
My card uses another of the new releases, Spring Sprouts. It has great, card-sized images, but the sentiments just screamed "Make a scrappy project, Jody", so I listened to them! LOL When I saw the sentiment, "My How You've Grown" of course I thought about my kiddos! I dug through my picture drawer and found these school pictures from 2007 of my girls. They have already changed so much... even since these were taken 2 short years ago! I decided to make something I could hang on my walls. If you knew how BARE my walls were, you would be glad for me. LOL I am VERY minimalist! LOL While I was looking at their pictures as I was making this project, I got all teary eyed. Confession: I am a sentimental sap! :) I know EVERY mother feels this way, but I am SO lucky to have them and thank my lucky stars every day for my 3 children.
I bought this frame at Walmart for about $3. It came with a white, matte mat, so I was able to sponge it with yellow ink to color it. The clouds on the top of the panel are stamped in white craft and embossed with white embossing powder. The "grass" was made by making 1/8" cuts into my green card stock. The flowers were cut out and popped up using dimensionals. The sentiment was stamped directly on the photo mat with Memento black ink.
The set I used, as well as Funky Flowers are available NOW on the MFT site HERE. They are also available in a bundle with some AWESOME jeweled brads and A2 sized Eclipse masking tape panels which are a MUST for masking! You can find the bundle HERE.
Your next stop is the talented Kimmie! Be prepared to be WOWED!
