I made this card with my new Lulu stamp from Stamping Bella. She is stamped in Memento black and colored with Copic markers. I added a dot of glue on each little dot on her dress and then dusted it with glitter. I think this layout is an older SFYTT from Jen.
OK, so my hubby stories have been plentiful lately... he has been providing me with a lot of "material". LOL Tonight, homework time with the kids was turned in to some funny banter about Copic markers. Our 9 year old, Madeline, does not have to take spelling tests in school this year, but her teacher allows them to bring home the "would have been test words" and take the tests at home and then she earns "raffle tickets" that they get and then are entered in a drawing for prizes. Tonight, she had FIVE lists containing 25 words each and Daddy was reading the words off to her. I was sitting next to him and occasionally had to remind him to make sure she had sentences to go with the words because some of them were words that sounded like another word, which was spelled differently... this is what happened next:
Hubby: Thrifty. Mommy likes to think she is thrifty, but she buy markers that cost $100.
Me: $100? My Copics are worth a lot more than that! LOL
Hubby: Street. If Mommy keeps buying Copic markers, we are going to live on the street.
Hubby: Stung. When Mommy told me she bought more markers, it stung.
Hubby: Sparkle
Me: When Mommy gets new markers, her eyes sparkle.
Hubby: Stress. When Mommy buys more markers, it causes me stress.
Hubby: Special.
Me: Daddy doesn't care how many markers Mommy buys, because she is special.
Hubby: Steak. Daddy wants a steak, but Mommy just bought more markers.
Hubby: Clustered.
Me: Mommy only buys more markers because they look better clustered.
All the while, our daughter was giggling away! LOL She is all for Copic markers, because she gets to use them too. :) Oh, and just so you all know... HE is spoiled too. LOL He has plenty of "man toys", but likes to tease me about my Copic markers. It was all in jest and was very entertaining for all. :)
Question of the day: What stamp/scrapbook supply does YOUR hubby tease you about the most? Leave your response in the comments section below. :)
Have a great day!
Great image! I love the stitching round the edges, really makes the whole card stand out and the bursts of orange are gorgeous! Great card :)

Your card is beautiful! I'm dying about the Copic Spelling words. That is a riot! I get teased about the fact that I'm not certified with the Copics, and as such that I have no business buying, or using them.
ReplyDeleteToo funny on the spelling!
ReplyDeleteLovely card! I really like the layout.
I get teased by everyone in my life about my paper (especially cardstock) snobbery.
Very pretty card! Love the Copic spelling words story to funny!
ReplyDeleteUmmm Ribbon he says things like do you really need 1000 yards of blue ribbon.....YES!
OMG! That is freakin' hilarious! I get teased about my "hobby" in general. Mostly it's just a source of frustration for my hubby.I can stamp a surplus of random cards. The laundry is piled up, but I still have my pretty cards, he just doesn't have any clean underwear.
ReplyDeleteI love your spelling story! I don't get teased about specific purchases but rather 'where are you going to put that' or 'you need more...?' Very rarely he asks why I need more stamps and when I patiently explain why this one/set/entire order is unique, he just sighs.
ReplyDeleteThe card is awesome -- love that you colored her hair auburn. So used to seeing the Lulus with black hair that this was a nice surprise!
ReplyDeleteAnd that story is PRICELESS!! You Morrows should take your act on the road!
As for supply teasing? I don't get much of that. At least before the last couple of months, I think my 'issues' were taken too seriously; it would have been like teasing an alcoholic about gin or something... ;)
HAHA that is fantastic!! The hubs teases me about my copic markers too. I love your lulu card it is so cute.
ReplyDeleteLuv the story! Let me tell you about one of my favorites . . . I have many! QVC had a 24 hr scrapbooking marathon. I was so proud of myself for not going over board but still spent a gd chunk of $. A few days later hubby takes me to an electronic store. I step away from the man for 1 minute only to find when I came back he had a keyboard in his hands. We already have a keyboard and a piano at home. So when I approached him I asked him why in the world he needed yet one more keyboard. Although he did not say his response was obvious . . . "why do you need yet one more piece of sb paper when you thousands of sheets in your sb room". *&^%#@ So I concede to the purchase of the keyboard. The man then says to me, "you know I have to buy speakers as well".
ReplyDeleteLove this, Jody!! And I love the story--I'd have been ROTFL! I don't get teased much--my DH has plenty of things I could tease him about ;-)
ReplyDeleteThis cracked me up! Love the spelling words. Of course your card is darling. Have a super fabulous day, sweet friend!
ReplyDeleteYou card is DARLING!! Hubby thinks I have way too much of EVERYTHING. When he comes to my craft area he just shakes his head!!
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny!! My hubby? All of it. He always says I wish I had a room to myself, and I say What do you call the garage? Just because it's not heated, so what? LOL
ReplyDeleteCute card!
LOL!!! Your hubby stories are awesome!! Mine complains that we would be able to go on 14-day cruises if I didn't spend $30 a month on supplies! LOL! Yeah, right ; )
ReplyDeleteK i'm on the phone w/ a friend and had to read this aloud to him-this is HILARIOUS!!!!!! You have totally entertained me this morning and I am in LOVE w/ that Lulu stamp-your card is beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteJody that is hilarious and sounds like something MY DH would say .... IF I told him how much they cost... LMAO
ReplyDeleteDH teases me about my "Crap" room in general.... he too gets what he wants, I make sure I spoil him on Birthday and Christmas... otherwise he wouldn't buy anything for himself!!!!
I actually laughed out loud when I read your post! Love it!
ReplyDeletejen
Love the card! Your coloring is simply amazing! But please stop showing new stamps. I promised Mary that I would stop ordering things and start using them. Yeah, like that will ever happen!
ReplyDeleteMy hubby doesn't tease me about one item in craft room, it's EVERYTHING in it! Between all my stamps, papers, copics, pencils to my $2,000 sewing machine, $600 embroidery machines, every color thread (or string as he calls it) and thousands of embroidery designs. I still have a way to go compared to his four wheeler, snowmobile, jetski and all the fuel to run them.
Like I always tell him, he always knows where I am, I'm off the streets and not in the bars!
Oh my,this is so cute, such a sweet image! And love the colors you've used! My hubby teases me about dp all the time. I'm a hoarder for paper! He always says MORE PAPER!!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe you should use the ones you bought last week, last month, last year....lol! Men!!!
LMAO!!!! That conversation was HILARIOUS!!!! Andrew came into my stamp room one day and started opening drawers. After about a minute of looking around and checking in the drawers he turned to me and said "I could have had a sports car, couldn't I?". And yes, he probably could, but he doesn't because I'm SPECIAL!!! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, LOVE your card too with that sassy hair colour!!!
FUNNY STUFF, SOUND LIKE MY HOUSE. I HAVE A PAZZLE DIE CUTTING MACHINE THAT I HAVE A FOR ABOUT 4 YEARS USED IT 1 THEN WAS AFRAID I WAS GONNA BREAK, SO I GET A HARD TIME FIR IT ALL THE TIME ( IT COST $600.00) SO I GUESS HE HAS THE RIGHT ...LOL
ReplyDeleteLOL too funny! I love the Copics you used too ;) That stamp is just too cute!
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny at my house we live in the house of paper
ReplyDeleteLOL you and your husband crack me up! So cute! As is your card ;)
ReplyDeleteOff to catch up on your blog while I was away!
Adorable Jody, my hubby likes to tease me about my Copic markers too and my designer papers!!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute card, Jody, and LOVED the spelling words. LOL. I don't really get teased about my stamping supplies. (But my hubby keeps asking if I want a Twilight lunchbox for Christmas. Or a sparkly Edward doll. lol.)
ReplyDeleteCHOKING - I am choking on my tea reading about your spelling words conversation. What a riot!! Ken just teases me everytime a package arrives that I've got more toys to play with.
ReplyDeleteThis is the funniest blog post I have read in a long time! My husband always says "Go stamp up some groceries" or "Go stamp up some laundry" when he needs a snarky comeback. Lucky for me I have a lot of leverage...he collects antique BOATS and BOAT MOTORS...and they are not cheap!
ReplyDeleteLove your card-very nice! That is a very funny story Jody! I can just picture the 'scene'. My hubby walks into my scrapbook room and sits on the stool at the counter-I am sitting at the table and he says "what exactly do you do with all this stuff? I know there is no way you can possibly use all of this. Then he looks at the QK, big shot and wizard and all the dies and shakes his head and says the $10,000. room!" (That does not include the shelves in the closet that houses ALL my stamps.) He loves all my finished products and says I guess it is worth it if your happy<3 On the other hand, he has an awesome workshop-lots of tools and he hunts and has lots of guns. We both enjoy the challenge:)
ReplyDeleteI am howling right now! (Cute card BTW!) But please do NOT tell my homeschooled 9 yo that there are no spelling tests! I am a mean teacher and make him take one every Friday!
ReplyDeleteWhat does my husband torment me about most...paper! He thinks the floors will collapse under the weight of it all. He's afraid that once the kids leave home, the paper stacks will be like tunnels and one day it will fall on him and kill him! To which I say, "Yay, I can buy more paper with the insurance money!" (I say that all in fun, naturally!)
Wonderful Card. So glad I found your blog!
ReplyDeleteMy husband teases me most about the "mess."
LOL, enjoyed the banter AND the cards this a.m. - TFS! And in our household? It's probably my online time, checking blogs! I start and end my day browsing 'em.
ReplyDeleteJody, this was priceless! love your story. ummmm, my DH gives me a hard time about it all! Sad thing is he still calls it all Stamping Up! and little does he know I have waaaaaay more non-SU stuff now! He just shakes his head and says, "how much did that cost me?" whenever a package arrives. I just remind him, that it all makes me HAPPY and I'm a better wife/mother for it!
