Presents are the BEST

Hi everyone!  Today we are celebrating MFT's Greatest Hits from the Who's That Girl line of stamps.  There are really SO many to choose from, but I am finally (after 7 or so years) realizing that I can actually use what I make.  I don't have to hang on to EVERY thing I make.  LOL  What's the use of making it if it's not enjoyed, right?  So... I made something practical: a gift planner for this holiday season using Wrapped in Love.  You can see the other designer's creations by heading over to Kim's blog at 11 am EST for the complete, linked list of participants.

I cut the chipboard myself and used some copy paper for the inside pages.  It was bound using my new Cinch binging tool.  (yay for new toys).  I used some new Christmas patterned paper by the Girls Paperie, which was a gift from my friend, Joanne.  Thanks, girlie!  WTG was paper-pieced and colored with Copic markers.  I used the new Rolled Rose Die-namics die and the Banana Split felt collection to create the rose embellishment for the cover.  I used the Sheltering Tree die and the Outdoor Essentials felt collection for the leaves.  I also used the small scallop border on the green polka dot patterned paper.

I wanted divided sections so I could gather my gift-giving ideas in a way that made sense.  I used the Rounded Banner Die to create label tabs for each section.  They were sewn to a card stock divider, and then I added a matching piece of card stock to the back of the divider to cover up the stitching on the back side.  I wanted them to be nice and sturdy, as I plan to use this for some time!

The sections I included are:
  • Kids
  • Family
  • Friends
  • Teachers
  • Classmates
  • Receipts

I created a pocket for the back of the organizer, where I can keep all my gift receipts.

Here is a shot of the back of the organizer.

I am happy to report that I was able to already add one entry to the kid's section of my organizer.  My girls have taken a liking to the new Vera Bradley collection, and I already grabbed them each some fun goodies in one of the new patterns.  YAY!  Now to remember to keep this hidden well!  LOL

Here is a look at all the Die-namics I used on this project:

I loooove the Rolled Rose.  It's so much fun!  Rolled Rose + felt = WOWZERS  Try it.

I really like the Rounded Banner die.  It's a fun take on the hot trend of banners.  Can I let you in a little secret?  I just purchased FIVE of these.  That way I can spell things out without having to crank my Big Shot as many times.  Spoiled much?  LOL  I can't wait to get them. :)  This die is fun as a banner OR a sentiment panel.  :)  OR as tabs on my organizer.  LOL

While I am in the confessing mood... I just ordered another Sheltering Tree die, also (so now I'll have two).  heehee  I just needed to have another leaf die.  I cannot describe the thrill of using a zillion felt leaves on different projects.  YUM!

Here is a look at the new binding tool I used for my project:

I'll do a full review of it after I play with it enough to learn the pros and cons.  :)  There are already some features that I am really enjoying, but that will be a post for another day.  :)

OK, I think I have kept you long enough!  :)  I hope you have a GREAT week and I'll see you soon!  I have a "mailbox" post and some more stamped goodies to share with you this week.
