Feelin' Froggy

Hello all and thanks for hopping by today.  It's time for Wednesday Stamp Club #43 and I'm Feelin' Froggy with Pure Innocence and made a card fit for any tomboy (or friend who appreciates these adorable little characters lol).

I used the little frog accessory stamp from the set for the circle element of the sketch and used it as a sort of embellishment by encircling it in a blingy circle (Michaels).  I added some Sakura clear gel pen to the frog's eyes.  You can see the soon-to-be-released Wonky Scallop Border Die-namics peeking out under the main image.

Isn't she so sweet?  Do you see the denim texture on her overalls?  I am going to show you how I achieved that look.

I went to my garage and found a pair of old jeans that didn't fit my daughter anymore and cut a swatch of the denim fabric.  One BIG thing to remember when doing this technique is color the part you want to texturize FIRST or else the texture will transfer to your whole image and it has the potential to make your coloring bleed.

You'll need:
  • Image, colored where you want texture (she is stamped with Memento ink on PTI Stamper's Select card stock)
  • denim, fabric, ribbon, a washcloth, or any other material that you want to capture the texture of.  Try your hand at different things and see what works.
  • Copic Colorless blender refill

Squirt Copic colorless blender on the denim and lay over the image and gently press, then remove denim and the texture will transfer to your colored image.

Then you are ready to color the rest of the image.

Copic marker colors used:

  • BG72, BG75, BG78, BG0000
  • E50, E21, E33
  • Y21, Y23, Y26
  • T0, T2
  • YR14

Here is the sketch for you.  I hope you'll play along.  :)

Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Blog and the MFT forum on SCS (look for the most recent WSC thread).  You'll need to upload your card in the SCS gallery using the keyword shown on the sketch. You will have the chance to win up to $20 in MFT money. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Go get sketchy with MFT!
