I just love this adorable stamp set! I actually cut apart the à la modes character from the firecracker so I could stamp her solo on a panel and use the firecracker as an accent. I ended up cutting her out anyway, but I like having more options and versatility so I cut my clear stamps apart all the time. I colored her skin with Copic markers and the rest of the image with Prismacolor pencils.
To achieve the darker shadows on her dress, I added in some black colored pencil and blended it in. I added some detail to her shoes to make the soles look like cork. She was "fussy cut" out and adhered to a stitched panel.
I used Tiara Stickles on the exploding fuse on the firecracker. It's super shiny!
She is colored with Copic markers. Her dress was paper-pieced with a denim patterned paper. The sentiment was stamped on the File Tab Die-namics.
Confession: my stitching was messy along the top of this blue panel and I could NOT let it go... so I covered it up with a cute multicolored banner. I cut the Banner Strip Die-namics in all three sizes and then layered them over one another, cutting off the banners I wanted to skip. I added a couple silver brads to anchor it on the card.
Here are the Die-namics I used on my cards today:

ReplyDeleteAdorable cards...love the colouring on the image.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards! I love that you cut the image apart and used the firework as an embellishment. And the banner was great for hiding your sewing problem. My husband got me the same sewing machine you had linked for Christmas and I am starting to use it on my cards slowly. I always have crooked lines to cover up...or I just add more "wonky" sewing to make it look like I did it on purpose. LOL!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! Both cards are fabulous!
