Give It a Whirl

Happy 4th of July!  I decided to make a fun card for this week's MFT Wednesday Stamp Club Sketch Challenge #79.  If you'd like to see what the rest of the participating members of the design team came up with, click on over to the MFT Blog.
I hadn't used Fred Bear and the Pinwheel yet and I was feeling inspired to whip out the Perfect Pinwheel Die-namics.

I chose some bright, cheery patterned paper and didn't think a brown Fred Bear would jive, so I left him white and added some deeper (than usual) blue shadowing behind him.  I also added some touches of shadow to his fur to give him some depth.  I added some red chalk to his cheeks.  The grass was drawn in with Prismacolor pencils.  I paper-pieced the pinwheel he is holding and added a bright yellow brad to the center (Pink Hedgehog Papercrafts).  The sentiment is stamped on one of the Sentiment Strips.

I love the adorable Perfect Pinwheel every time I use it.  It's super easy to put together and it's just so fun!
