You Angel

Hello there!  It's day 6 of MFT Teaser Time and that means it's time to feature the adorable Pure Innocence line!  My card today uses one of the three new Pure Innocence stamp sets, Angel.  I just adore this sweet little image, but the bigger reason for me using this stamp set is because my husband told me that this was his favorite PI image ever.  I was compelled to use it and have a card to give him.

I used several "tricks" to make this card, so be sure to keep scrolling for a tutorial on how to replicate this card.

The bow created with hand-dyed Hemp Cord.  It was strung through a Whip Cream Button and laid over a strip of Sweet Tooth Ribbon.

The sweet PI Angel was colored with Copic markers on X-Press It Blending Card.  I added many layers of paper-piecing, which I show you below in the tutorial.

A Jumbo Snowflake was tucked behind the layers to add a little bit of pizzaz.

The sentiment (which was pieced together by cutting apart the sentiment and re-piecing) was stamped on the Mini Ticket Tab.

The gown was colored with Y26 and then painted with Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam Golden Goddess Glitter Paint.  I am loving that stuff.  The wings were painted with Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam Twinkle Toes Glitter Paint.

I added lots of dimension to the image by paper-piecing in layers and adding additional adhesive to stack the pieces.

Here, I show you some steps to recreate this card.

Color her skin, hair, and shoes.  "Roughly" color her dress.  This is ONLY to have a base coat for anything that peeks through the paper-piecing, so don't worry about how it looks at all.

Colore her gown and hand on a separate piece of paper and cut them out.  Cut along the sleeve line of her gown, also.  I colored the gown with Y26 and then coated it with Tattered Angel Glimmer Glam Golden Goddess Glitter Paint (that's a mouth full LOL).

Add Twinkle Toes Glitter Paint to 2 sets of wings.

Cut out the wings all together, and then cut out just the "front" wing.  Also, add adhesive to the back of the dress.  I added thin dimensional hexagons under the sleeve of her gown and thin glue dots to the rest.

Adhere her dress in place, on the colored image.

The dimensionals will make her sleeve pop out.

Adhere the full wings, but don't put adhesive on the tips of the wings.

Adhere the second layer of wings, and again, don't put adhesive neat the tips so you can flare out the feathers a bit.

Mold them in place as desired.

I wanted to use a mini tab, but the smallest sentiment didn't fdit, so I performed surgery on my sentiment and pieced it together to say You Angel.

I wanted some gold cord, but I don't have any, so I grabbed my Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam Golden Goddess Glitter Paint and some Hemp Cord.

Shove it in the bottle.

Put the lid on and shake, shake, shake.

Use some tweezers and pull out the lump o' cord.  At this point of the process I was somewhat leery, but I carried on.  LOL  Squeeze the cord and remove the excess paint.

I used my heat gun to speed along the drying process.  It comes out somewhat stiff, but looks great.
