My first card uses the Brand Spankin' New Inspired by the Front Porch - Spring. I adore this beautiful image. It was stamped in brown ink on a piece of muted patterned paper.
The sentiment was stamped on a die-cut from Howdy Frames. I distressed all the edges with Kraft ink.
I added a simple Natural button, threaded with Hemp Cord. Some Whip Cream Ribbon was used on the back layer of the card.
The background was stamped with the woodgrain stamp from Western Backgrounds in Versamark, and embossed with cream embossing powder.
I used the new Big Birthday Numbers stamp set to create a card for my daughter, Madeline. She will be turning 13 in less than a month. My baby is going to be a teenager in a few short weeks. *sniff sniff*
I love that I can customize birthday cards for ANY age using this stamp set. The "line image" numbers allow for paper-piecing or coloring. A girl's gotta have options!
I combined several different patterned papers and then whipped out my Claudine Hellmuth Gesso, mixed it with some light brown paint (to make it a cream color), and added some paint to the front of my card, which was already stitched. I wanted to "mute" the patterns a bit. I sprayed Goosebumps texture spray after the card was assembled, but before I added the sentiment and numbers.
I added a Fishtail Flag STAX and stitched the perimeter. I wrapped some Hemp Cord around the card layer and tied a simple bow. The numbers were placed on a Circle STAX and layered with the Award Seal.
The "13" was stamped and paper-pieced using patterned paper. Then I distressed (and painted) all the edges of the patterned paper and card stock.
Here is my sweet girl's most recent FB pic. :) Look at that sweet little dimple! She is turning into a little lady right before my eyes. Happy 13th, sweetness. XOXO
