For my first card, I got in a peppy mind frame and went "rainbow". Who says Christmas can't be multicolored? The MERRY die was cut diagonally on a Smooth White card base. The word BRIGHT, from Merry Messages, was stamped using a different color for each letter (thank you, Stampamajig). Above the merry, I stamped the dashed line from Perk Up stamp set a couple times, then completed the line with another of the dashed line stamps from the same set, but had to mask off to be able to do it. It was a *little* bit of a pain in the bootie, BUT it was super fun and I LOVE the end result (is it ok to say that?) The "Christmas light" is a single dot cut from one of the background strips from my Darling Dots stamp set (I'm a stamp butcher). They were stamped every 2 dashes (approximately). I tucked a piece of Black Licorice Card Stock behind the front of the card base to make the MERRY stand out.
The string of lights makes me squeal. LOVE it. YAY - crafty success.
Up next is this quick and easy card using the same die. This time, instead of backing the front with colored card stock, I adhered it to the front of the back panel of the card base. This gives the word a bit of dimension. "Christmas" is from Merry Messages and was stamped in Jellybean Green Ink. I splattered the card base with a mix of water and Jellybean Green Ink Refill. I added a fishtail tag and some silver sequins to finish it off.
This woodsy card was inspired by a card I found in the recent Papercrafts magazine by Terri Davenport. I paired texture with bright colors for an unexpected collision of styles.
