Hello there and thank you for stopping by today. Today is the first day of the MFT September Release Countdown. Only 5 day until the new release (yay)! Be sure to head over to the MFT Blog for full set and die reveals for the day. This release is packed full of gorgeous new products that travel the creative globe.
My cards today feature the new Delicate Pretty Poppies by Lisa Johnson. This is a follow up set to the wildly popular pretty poppies set, and this one is a line art set, which is perfect for coloring, watercoloring, and doing different techniques than with the original solid set. BONUS: It works with the previously released die set (SCORE).
Up first is this card with watercolored poppies. I didn't want the white outline on the die cut, so I watercolored the entire die cut, even outside of the lines. I like the finished product. In the background, I sponged pigment ink over the Grid Stencil, and then stamped the word background strip from Pretty Poppies in Daffodil. The sentiment was stamped on a Dimensional Banner. I accented around the flowers with Copic Opaque White.
Next up is this simple, but took me 2 hours to make card. :) The flowers are die cut and then colored to bring out the detail of the flowers. They are popped up over the stems, and a trio of score lines adds just a touch of texture to the backdrop of the card. The sentiment was stamped in black, and I layered the front panel on a panel of Black Licorice.
These products and many more will be available for purchase in just five days, on September 1 at 10 PM EST. Be sure to check out the MFT Blog to see what the rest of the team has come up with today.
