My cards today feature the new Tiki Party stamp set and Die-namics. It has lots of fun images in it, perfect for creating fun tropical scenes. Up first is this clean and simple scene of a secluded tiki hut on a hill, with nothing but palm trees and blue skies. Sounds like Utopia to me. :) The background was created on watercolor paper with Peerless Watercolors. The images were stamped on Kraft card stock and were colored with Copic markers. I created a hill with Snow Drifts and included a sentiment from that stamp set, along with a strip of white card stock to tie in the card base color.
For this card, I wanted to do something a little out of the box, so I created a Polynesian totem pole, complete with a pair of wings, created with palm fronds. The base was created with a mini tab. The flames at the base are from Roughing It. I created a torch with the flames from Roughing It and the stick and base are from Witch's Cauldron. The background was created by sponging ink on watercolor paper.
Jody, you have done a fabulous job on both of your cards. I love "scene cards" done with distress backgrounds. (My fav. to make!) TFS!
ReplyDeleteIs this some special Ranger watercolor paper? I've never seen the grain of the Ranger paper run straight across. It's always like "bubbles" on the surface? I've seen and touched your cards in person. I want THIS particular watercolor paper. Can you help me? These are just beautiful ...
